What areas do you cover?
Joan is happy to travel to locations in Norfolk & Suffolk. Please mention the location as it may affect the quote and travel rates are charged at 45 p per mile by car outside of a 10 mile radius of Attleborough in Norfolk.
Can I request a song that is not in your repertoire list?
Yes, of course, you can. Joan is happy to sing a variety of different songs from different genres. Joan will do her best to make sure that you have the music you want on the day. The more notice you can give, the better, as Joan may need source suitable musical backing tracks, and this can take some time and may affect your quote. Please note that some songs may be unsuitable for Joan to sing.
How far in advance do I need to book?
The answer is quite simple. The sooner the better. Bookings work on a first come first served basis and unfortunately even if availability is given for a certain date, the booking is not confirmed until the deposit has been paid.
I'm hosting a big event. Are you happy to sing with a microphone?
Yes, but Joan doesn't own any of the equipment required. Joan is happy to use your or the venue's equipment or if necessary she is happy to recommend a sound engineer but this would be at additional cost. Please mention this when booking.
As an trained classical singer, Joan prefers not to use a microphone and is able to project her voice without the need for amplification. Particularly in churches and places with a good acoustic. However if at your event you have a very large audience, excessive background noise or then Joan may will need to decide whether amplification is required.
Does there need to be a piano available?
Joan normally provide her own backing tracks and portable amp for her performances but is happy to perform with an accompaniest should it be require. However please note that additional time may be rquired to rehearse with the accompaniest and this will incur an additional charge.
Do I need to provide anything?
Requirements:
1. A suitable place to change with a mirror, a parking space when arriving by car, refreshments if required at venue for more than 1.5 hours.
2. Large Events - (See above) Hire of a possible PA system and sound Engineer(s).
Are you happy to perform outside?
Yes as a singer I can perform anywhere although extra amplification may be required and therefore the performance area should be near a power supply. The power supply will also be needed for my portable backing track amp.
How should I pay?
A deposit of 50% is usually required in advance to secure the booking. This is non-refundable unless Joan falls ill and is unable to perform. The remaining balance is due shortly prior to the event or on the day. Joan will accept payment via: Bank transfer, Cheque and Cash
What is your cancellation policy?
If you have to cancel the booking less than 2 months prior to the date of your event you will still be charged half of the agreed fee as we will have had to turn down other bookings. If you have to cancel less thatn 48 hours beforehand, the full amount (minus travel) will be due. Deposits are non-refundable
What happens if Joan is ill on the day or unable to perform?
In the rare occasion that Joan is unable to perform at a fixed engagement, she will endeavor to find another singer who meets your requirements.
